My Invented Land
This armchair, created in collaboration with Merci Maku, reflects on the intimate architecture of “home” and its layered inheritances. Basket-weaving, an indigenous craft of resilience and utility, is reinterpreted into a contemporary design language of woven copper, its surface inscribed with poetry by both Maku and Robin Ngangom. Together, text and texture converge into a singular body - an object that holds, in equal measure, memory, identity, and belonging.
